Becoming a student and starting university or college is a really exciting time full of new challenges and experiences. If you have epilepsy, this might mean there are a few more things to think about. Over the past year, Young Epilepsy have been investigating the support available for students with epilepsy in higher education.
They have spoken to higher education institutions about the support they currently provide and asked students if the existing support is actually what they need and if anything should be improved.
From this feedback, Young Epilepsy have developed a free and simple support pack for higher education institutions, containing:
- A free guide to epilepsy
- An epilepsy questionnaire
- Dedicated online resources for students to manage their epilepsy at university
- Online course for higher education staff
